Presidents Letter
Hello Everyone,
Thanks to all for such a wonderful turnout at our annual picnic and benefit auction!
First of all; our board members and committees are working very hard to get the borders on the CWD program lightened to help out neighboring states for movement of animals into our state. It sounds very promising from the Animal Board of Health. It is all hinging on the new federal guide lines which are expected to be coming out soon.
Our DNR permit for Whitetail deer breeders is complete. The exotic permit is basically complete, and is now waiting on the people "above" to approve. In the meetings I have attended we have agreed. There was a catch on what to do should the exotic gets loose. Who and when to shoot. The conclusion on it was; the shooter had better have a very good reason or he/she is going to be in a lot of trouble.
All I say to all is, keep your cervids in all CWD/ TB Bruce programs to protect your investments.
The final and last, we all know we have got to protect our future and our end product -Alternative Hunting. If we do not have that, we have nothing. Our Board of Directors and attorneys are working diligently to help defend new and existing Alternative Hunting in the state of Indiana. So please hang in there with us, as we will prevail.
I hope everyone has had a good and healthy off spring harvest and their antlers have gotten very big.
And now until the next time-thanks again for the wonderful picnic/ auction!
